YXE FC Crowned National Champions at Men's Masters in Winnipeg

Oct. 06, 2025

Saskatoon YXE FC took home gold at the Men's Masters competition at this year’s National Championships.

Saskatoon YXE FC won their first Canada Soccer National Championship at any level after defeating Edmonton Scottish SC 1:0 in the final. Jordan Schidlowsky earned tournament MVP honours for Saskatoon YXE FC.

Of note, Gareau, Hembroff, Huyghebaert and Schidlowsky were all part of the first-ever national champions from Saskatchewan back in 2011. The quartet helped Saskatoon HUSA Alumni lift the Challenge Trophy after they won 2:0 over Surrey ICST Pegasus at the 2011 National Championships.

Canada Soccer’s Masters Championship serves as a pinnacle event to the 2025 season, bringing together the best Masters clubs from across the country. This marks the first year that men’s and women’s Masters teams have been brought together in one host city as opposed to regional competitions in the west and east.

The eight men’s teams qualified from a group of 79 Masters teams competing across eight provinces. The complete schedule, results and group standings for Canada Soccer’s 2025 Masters Championship have been published at canadasoccer.com/competitions.
