Athlete Support

Several sources of financial support are available to minimize barriers to participating in soccer.

KidSport Saskatchewan

KidSport is a children’s charity which assists children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in community sport programs so that all kids can play. The goal of KidSport is to provide these children with the opportunity to achieve physical, social, intellectual and moral development through participation in sport. If all children have the opportunity to play, learn self-respect, gain self-confidence, adopt active and healthy lifestyles, and realize dreams through sport, then these children may have a better chance of becoming contributing members and leaders in our communities.

Founded in 2005, Jumpstart Charities helps kids overcome financial and accessibility barriers to sport and recreation in an effort to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities.

Saskatchewan Soccer Association Athlete Assistance Program

The Athlete Assistance Program (AAP) is a program of financial assistance provided by Saskatchewan Soccer for athletes in sanctioned High Performance training environments. The goal of the AAP is to provide identified high performance soccer players with financial support to assist in their continued development and ensure high performance programming is as accessible as possible to talented and dedicated athletes with financial barriers to participation.
The intent of the AAP is to provide support to athletes in the Training to Train and Training to Compete stages of the Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model within Saskatchewan Soccer's High Performance Stream, who are participating in High Performance Stream competitions such as the High Performance Showcase Series, multi-sport games, or training in Saskatchewan Soccer's Regional Excel Centre (REX), or a Saskatchewan Soccer approved High Performance training environment.
For questions or further information regarding the Athlete Assistance Program, contact the Coordinator of High Performance - Administration or at (306) 975-0862.

The Adopt-an-Athlete program provides athletes with an opportunity to collect sponsorships and donations in support of their participation in Saskatchewan Soccer programs. Athletes might request sponsorships/donations from:
Businesses where they previously worked or currently work
Businesses where they have contacts
Local recreation departments
Local municipalities
Local community groups such as Kinsmen, Lions Club, Legion, Rotary Club, Shriners, Kiwanis
More information is available in the Adopt-an-Athlete guide.
Through a partnership with the National Sport Trust Fund, eligible donors may be entitled to a charitable tax receipt.
