Learn to Train
The emphasis of the Learn to Train (U11 & U13) workshop is on technical and tactical development within a small sided game environment (6v6, 7v7, 8v8, and 9v9). You'll learn how t oteach basic principles of play and how to establish training ethics and discipline in a fun and challenging environment.
The Learn to Train workshop is delivered by two components: (1) Online Theory and (2) On-Field Practical. Once the online theory component of the workshop has been completed, coaches can then sign up for the in-person, on-field practical component. When a coach has completed their online theory component, on-field practical component, and the Make Ethical Decisions training, they will receive the status of Trained Coach (or will be considered In Training if they have not completed all of the components).
Pre-Requisites: None
Online Classroom Duration: Approximately 2-3 hours
On-Field Practical Duration: 4 hours
Fee: $130 (this fee relates only to the courses that SSA delivers; all courses delivered by local Member Organizations may be priced differently)
Coaches need to be 16 years of age to register for any course.
Learn to Train workshops require a minimum of 12 participants.
